In the photo above Jarkko is skinning into the upper bowl of Sjufjellet with a great view of the Terrain behind Tamokhuset. The middle ridge separates the easy access spots to the right and the more remote terrain to the left.
Terrain behind Tamokhuset
The photo below is a closer view of the upper alpine basin behind Tamok. The main classic is Istinden Ridge to the right but the bowl and face on the left is a great alternative.
Here are the Northeast gullies of Istinden ridge which is the most popular tour in the area. The ascent route is on the lower flats to the left traversing to the middle bench before following the wind sculpted ridge in the middle to the upper ridge.
Looking to the East from on top of Istinden Ridge. The two bowls on the right offer great turns.
A closer perspective of the furthest out Eastern Bowl. You can easily ascend the ridge on the picking your line. This area is short and sweet.
If you went over the col in the photo above the photo below is where it would take you. This slope is south facing so it gets sun affect but the line is ridable to the valley below.
Above was a photo of the Northeast Bowl of Istinden and this is the North face. Because this area is constantly being hit by winds it has a thinner snowpack but there ae lines in there.
Zoomed in on the Northern Face of Istinden you can see a handful of lines but be prepared to hit a few rocks along the way.
Looking at the Eastern face of the Eastern Ridge the area based in the Finndalen Valley is possibly the most remote of the terrain behind Tamok Husset. The lines are steep and few and far between.
Here is the same face but a more direct view looking west at the Eastern face from near the summit of Nerotinden.
