The Brian Waddington Hut is in a stunning location near Pemberton British Columbia. Situated up Phelix creek and on the shores of Long Lake and is the perfect place to ski tour. With a capacity of up to 40 people and can be quite crowded on the weekends but a great place non the less.

Snowboarding in Argentiina
Snowboarding in the Mountains of Argentiina
Snowboarding in Argentiina had always been a dream of mine. The high mountains of the Andes seemed to offer lifetimes of ski tours and adventures. Though it never seemed possible that I would travel there the stars aligned in 2013. I had gotten the opportunity to be involved with the Sweetgrass crew while they were filming the movie Solitaire. Soon I was flying south and on a wild adventure for a month.
Machu Picchu and a Week in the Sacred Valley
Machu Picchu.
The Peruvian Andes have always been a pipe dream for me. I never though I would have the chance to visit the place but always thought it would be an interesting place. While pouring through maps while in Bolivia I realized I was within traveling distance and decided to head that way. Passing through lake Titicaca to the old Inca empire.
Hiking Around Senja Island in Norway
Once returning to the car from our trip in the Lyngen Alps it was time to head to Southwest. Our plan was to car camp and do some hiking around Senja. The island is the 2nd largest in Norway and filled with steep fjords and an abundant amount of mountains to explore. My goal was to see what the terrain had to offer and potentially get the layout before returning mid winter.
Summer Hiking in the Lyngen Alps of Norway
Hitting the trail in the Lyngen Mountains of Norway
It was that time of year again when my wife had her summer vacation. That means one thing…..It’s time to take her on a hike. So what to do and where to go? Well a certain virus has made decisions a bit easier so Norway it is. So the plan was simple lets go do some summer hiking in the Lyngen Alps and afterwards we would migrate to Senja for a week exploring an island known as “Little Norway”
Australian Splitfest 2015
The 2015 Southern Hemisphere season started with a trip to Australia. It was the Australian Splitfest time and Adam West was interested in if I wanted to put together a course. I decided on doing a “How to set up a base camp safely and explore bigger lines while taking in conditions”. It would be a brief trip but as always I was looking forward to it.
SE Asia in 500 words
Since this is a website based on snowboarding not traveling (though I am more than happy to accept funding) I’m going to keep this story short. My brother was getting married in Vietnam Mid June and I was going to New Zealand mid July so I decided to do a few layovers to see what SE Asia was like as I would probably never have the chance again. So enjoy Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Indonesia.

OZ Splitfest by Firstlight Snowboards and Adam West
We were in a two week dry spell when I left New Zealand for Australia. Strange enough they were having a solid season with a deep snowpack and awesome corn snow. Adam West was kind enough to invite me to put on a snowboard clinic as well as put on a slide show for the OZ Splitfest. This would be my third time to Australia and I was excited to see some good friends and hopefully ride some steeper lines this time around.
Adventures in Europa
Europe has always seemed like a pipe dream, something so far away and way too expensive to ever seem possible. It was with great surprise and excitement that I found out that a project I had worked on with Crest Pictures and Friends, Freerider was chosen to be a part of the FreeRide Film Festival. With word of this I had tickets to go to Saint Lary, France to attend and another two weeks to check out the Alps.
The plane landed in Paris, France as the morning sun crested over the horizon for the next 48 hours I would take a whirlwind tour seeing touristy areas like the Luv, Effiel Tower and the Notre Dame before heading to the South of France. Once in the small country town of Saint Lary which is nestled in the Pyranees mountains I tried new foods, saw different films and celebrated a culture I have been fortunate to be a part of. It was a honor to have our film along side big budget films like All.I.Can, This is my Winter and Art of Flight.
