This is the main bulk of my trip reports with over 180 ski tours. Growing up in the Cascades this is where I learned to Splitboard for almost 20 years. Within this link I have broken it down to 7 separate areas focusing on both different wildernesses and main access roads. From Northern California to the North Cascades of Washington I've been fortunate to have learn my mountaineering skills in such a rugged and remote range.

CJ Couloir on Johannesburg Mountain
There is something really special about the North Cascades abundant steep, glaciated slopes. After spending too much time in the resort, I had to get out and take advantage of our endemic topography. To further tip the scales of persuasion,
Over 4 seasons I've spent over a year of my life in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. Within this page you can find 43 separate trip reports focusing from the Otago area all the way to Mount Ruapehu on the North Island. From the club fields to Mount Cook National Park the Land of the Long White Cloud is a massive and isolated place with some of the wilder terrain around.
There are few places in the world where you can ride from a summit all the way to the ocean floor. Being above the Arctic Circle Northern Norway's winter lasts longer then most places. Starting in Mid April it's daylight all day with powder snow still easily available. This page focuses on the numerous ski tours I've done over the years.
For years I've heard about the unreal snow conditions of Japan but didn't realize how good it was until I showed up. Quickly I became addicted to deep and dry snow day after day all accessed from the ski lifts. This page focuses on 5 years of riding on Honshu with a mixture of lift days and ski tours.
Living in Rovaniemi Finland these are some of the closest big mountains from my doorstep. Being a 2 hour drive away from the border and another 3 hours to the mountains it's a unique destination. Being mostly alpine mainly based out of the town of Kirovsk I've made 4 separate trips to the Kola Peninsula. The terrain ranges from wide open bowls to steep couloirs an all in between.
Growing up in Washington Canada was always my next door neighbor. With high alpine huts and road side ski touring every time I made my way to British Columbia I always wanted to stay longer. Most of my adventures were up to the Rogers Pass area but there is also a few in the Coastal Range and Alberta.
On my way to Northern Norway I was fortunate to do a side trip to Iceland. Having no idea what to expect I was blown away by the road side access and wide open terrain. While in Iceland we made our way out to the Westfjords and the mountains near Akureyri.
The Snowy Mountains of Australia offers great ski tours in spring conditions and the rare days of deep powder. While staying in New Zealand I was fortunate to meet up with Adam West who is the creator of the OZ Splitfest. This was a great opertunity to explore both the Mountains and the OZ backcountry culture.
In 2012 I had the good fortune to make it down to South America with the Sweetgrass Film Crew. Working on the Solitaire Film we arrived in Bolivia for 3 weeks of touring the high country. After that I made my way down to Argentina and explored Las Lenas with them battling harsh winds and low snow. Though the stars didn't align that often when they did it was all time.
