Ever since stepping foot in the Lyngen Alps I knew I wanted to traverse the entire range. By the third season it was time to head from the Southern section to the Northern over two weeks. The original plan was to take our time and ski numerous lines along the way but with bad weather it was days waiting for sun before running as long as our bodies would allow.
The high glaciers of Mount Cook National Park truly are something special. With the snow melted out at low elevations plans slowly came together to stay in the high country as long as weather would allow. What was originally planed to be a week quickly turned into 18 days starting on the Murchinson Glacier and ending our trip on the West Coast.
The Olympic Mountains of Washington State are a bit of a mystery to most people. Having grown up within eye view of the mountains it was only a matter of time before I decided to ski out there. After looking at the maps for a while it was decided to spend a week doing the Bailey Range ski traverse.
Being my second trip out to Glacier Peak Jason Hummel and I decided to head in via the Dakobed Range. This was my first ski traverse ever and there was a lot to learn over the week. The icing on the cake was a ski descent of Glacier Peak via the Cool Glacier Headwall.
