Over the years I focused on different projects to keep myself focused.
What started as the 5 Washington Volcanoes quickly progressed once I gained skills.
Below you will find 6 different goals that I came up with and links to the pages.
Over the years Ski Traverses became a passion of mine. There was something about studying maps and exploring new terrain. Starting at one point then ending in a completely different zone. This page focuses on Ski Traversing from Mount Rainier to Mount Baker over 16 different trips.
Over 3 years I explored the North Cascades of Washington State. From Jack Mountain in North Cascades National Park to Mount Stuart in Alpine Lakes Wilderness. There are ten 9,000 foot peaks in the North Cascades and this is a compilation and the different and unique landscape on each one.
In 2011 I came up with the plan to ride the 10 Highest Peaks in Washington state in a single season. From Mount Rainier to the South to Bonanza Peak in Glacier Peak Wilderness. With a two month trip to South America in May and June I spent my early spring ticking of most the Peaks only to ride the volcanoes in the late season. With most trips being multiday ski tours it was a great way to explore the different landscape of the Washington Cascades.
In 2010 coming out of two seasons climbing the volcanoes it was time to check out the North Cascades. Over the season I broke it into 10 separate sub ranges and started ticking off lines in each zone. From Abernathy Peak in the Eastern Cascades to the Monte Cristo Range in the West.
In 2009 I focused my attention on the Volcanoes of the Cascade Range. From Lassen Peak in California to Mount Baker in Northern Washington this is 25 separate trips thought the dynamic landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
After getting used to and figuring out how to navigate through the Wilderness I came up with a project to do the 5 Washington volcanoes. This was the season that I started getting used to climbing with crampons
